I have a friend in Japan. He lives or maybe I should say was living in the Miyagi area. His home is (or perhaps was) 20 miles from the coast. We have no news from him. Google has set up a person finder. Both him and his wife have been registered. I have some second hand information that his wife is ok. But still no word on him. I can't help but worry. He is an English teacher and I hope he wasn't working in the Tsunami area.
I hope that both he & everyone else is ok. It's pretty worrying watching all the coverage. I blogged about it last night. It's like every disaster movie rolled into one. The people of Japan are strong people. I will pray for your friend's well being.
ReplyDeleteI hope your friend is ok, and that you'll hear from him soon. If he isn't Japanese you may want to check local media in the place he's from... I know online newspapers where I live have put up people finders that have been really helpful, as they're a little more targeted.
ReplyDeleteJoining everyone hoping you hear from your friend again. It really is horrible to watch what has happened.
ReplyDeleteWe have friends with family in Japan. They have heard from most of them, but not all, so we are hoping that it's a communication issue and not anything worse.
ReplyDeleteWe can all just hope for the best and hope your friend checks in soon. I like Johanna's idea....
